Goliath, the Philistine champion, was a giant of a man. His height is described (in Hebrew) as being six cubits and a span, making him at least nine feet tall. His armor weighed 5,000 shekels, roughly 125 pounds. Goliath's spear weighed 600 shekels, or 15 pounds.
